windsor's field tr ruff ryder

Ryder does things his way, with grace and dignity.  He is our gentleman who is always up for an adventure.  Smart and kind, he has helped raise the other three boys in the house. Ryder breezed through senior hunter, loves to retrieve and enjoys the challenge of birds in the woods. Ryder broke a toe on each back foot before he was 6 months, and injured a hock with some exuberant "zoomies".  These injuries effectively kept him from finishing his show career.  He has had some fabulous field trial wins and placements. Ryder is uncle to Hawk and Hunter. He is littermate to DC#13, Tessa.

At the young age of 5 months, Steve and Ryder headed to Ohio for 5 days of Rick Smith Seminars.  The location was Cherry Bend Pheasant Farm.  Ryder learned the joys of cornfields and pheasants and to this days he is a "pheasant dog".  In 2018 the ESAA National Specialty Field Trial was held in Pennsylvania at a pheasant farm and there were the occasional pheasant on the trial grounds.  Ryder was fortunate that one was out during his brace and his joy was evident.  He turned in the winning performance for the inaugural run of the ALGD stake.
